Enjoy the Harvest for Years
Vu Ja De Vineyards, located in Roane County, is a young winery started by Bryan George and Karen Douglas. Trained in California, Bryan has taken his experience and applied it to a sustainable organic method of growing grapes here in West Virginia.
Vu ja de has 6 French-Hybrid varieties planted in the vineyard. 4 Reds (Noiret, Frontenac, Landot Noir and Marquette) and 2 Whites (Traminette and Cayuga White)
Bryan says: Vu ja de isn’t here to sell to the masses; instead we choose to invest time and passion into every single bottle of wine we make so that it is the very best. Remember “Vu ja de Vineyards” means wine like you have never tasted before.
If you are a wine aficionado who has not yet tasted one of West Virginia’s fine wines, you can find Vu ja de in fine restaurants throughout the state such as Cafe Cimino in Sutton, Savannah’s in Huntington, the Bridge Road Bistro in Charleston, Panorama on the Peak in Berkeley Springs and more. Bottles are sold at many locations also including Bottle and Wedge in Huntington, Capital Market in Charleston, Grapes and Grains Gourmet in Shepherdstown and more. You can find Vu ja de offering tastings at Charleston’s Wine and All That Jazz in June and many other festivals around the state during the year. Call for hours when the Tasting Room at the winery is open.

So happy to see this story! We first met Bryan a few years back at the Small Farms Conference Winter Blues Market. Our diners have been enjoying it ever since. Our visitors from out of the area seem particularly amazed at the quality. Karen and Bryan are doing an amazing job! So happy to have them in WV!
His wine is fantastic! Graham in particular is a wino but even I can taste how fine a job Bryan is doing.
