and then you go up….and up……and up….
hope that wet spot isn’t deep!
Right now it isn’t but there was a short, but high pedestrian bridge that they built for times when the water is up. They park one truck in a spot just off the paved road in that kind of situation, so they can drive down from the farm, park by the creek, cross the bridge and then get up the hill to the road, and then drive on. I parked there and they picked me up in a 4 wheel drive…which was very good as the driveway was a bit…bumpy.
Great picture & story! We have a few low water bridges here in Morgan County too. Gotta love the resourcefulness of our WV neighbors
I’ll be posting more about their farm, what they grow and their unique challenges on Monday
Awww…its very pretty there. Hope the road is repaired soon.
That is their driveway. In the Appalachian Mountains a driveway that crossed a shallow (most of the year) stream is not uncommon.
That is the private road to their farm, high up the mountain. Here in the Appalachian Mountains low water crossings are not uncommon.
